Council Venturing President: Donald Stephens

Hello All! My name is Donald Stephens, and I am proud to serve you and the rest of the youth in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council as your Council Venturing president!

In addition to being council Venturing President, I am also the president of crew 163 from Shavertown, Pennsylvania, which myself and the other crew members founded in October, 2011. Besides Venturing, I am also an Eagle Scout from Troop 232 in Dallas, Pennsylvania, a member of Lowwapaneu Lodge, Order of the Arrow, a Goose Pond Scout Reservation staff member for three summers and counting, and have been involved with the council National Youth Leadership Training course for the past 3 years as a participant and staff member. I have been involved in scouting for over 11 years. Just over a year and a half of those have been as a Venturer, and I can honestly say that Venturing has been one of the best scouting experiences I’ve had thus far!

Besides scouting, I am a Junior at Holy Redeemer High School, where I am a member of the National Honor Society, the school musical and chorus, and the captain of the speech and debate team. After high school, I plan to go to college to study Political Science and Economics, and maybe go to law school. 

When not in school, I’m doing something with Scouting, and I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. Scouting, particularly Venturing, has opened doors and presented opportunities for me that have made me the person I am today. My main goal as Council Venturing President is to continue the tradition of Venturing excellence which is ever present and growing in our council today, so that I can bring the same opportunities to you.
