May 5 & 6, 2018 ~ Camp Acahela

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Council invites you to participate
in a weekend of Cub Leader Outdoor Training at Camp Acahela...

Baloo The weekend will start on Saturday morning with registration and gathering from 8:00 – 8:45 AM. During gathering you will have the opportunity to set up your camping gear. The program will begin at 8:45 AM. The training will end at 11:00 AM on Sunday morning.

BALOO training is comprised of two components – an online component and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout Outdoor Leader. The on-line component can be found on the my.scouting.org site under expanded learning. The on-line component must be taken prior to attending the weekend session.

BALOO is an energetic training that will cover everything you need to know to plan and run a Pack overnighter. It's more than just camping…it includes ideas for outdoor activities; games and ceremonies; information on selecting and using camping equipment; how to run a campfire program; and hands-on Cub Scout cooking demonstrations! In short, everything you need to know to make your pack overnighter a fun, successful and safe event! Besides participating in Day Camp, Resident Camp, and Parent & Pal, packs may now organize overnight campouts for boys and their families. One adult Leader with BALOO training must accompany a pack/den overnight campout.

Equipment needed for the weekend is a camp chair, flashlight, tent, sleeping bag, ground sheet and whatever else your own personal needs dictate. Meals will be provided by the training staff. Please plan accordingly to the weather. Wear your uniform!
