The round robin lasted until 10:30 am, when the Venturers gathered in the parade field for morning colors, and some all- play games like barrel tag, dodge ball, among others. The all play session was followed by a delicious lunch and then an open area of programs all around the camp. The open area included 5 main events between which the participants were free to come and go: Era firearms shooting sports, archery, kayak polo, Judo self- defense sessions, and COPE.
Following the open area, crews gathered with their self- made cardboard boats to race in the Card Board Regatta. Venturers jumped into their makeshift water craft and raced into the icy waters of Goose Pond for the 1st place prize. Some sank, many floated, but only one made it all the way back to the gold! A fun time was had by all!
The apex of the weekend was surely the WWII mystery dinner theater put on by members of the VOA. Complete with costumes, props, and a dance number, the VOA members wowed and thrilled the audience with a true display of showmanship for all in attendance while enjoying a great dinner all at the same time. Following the dinner theater was a high energy game of ultimate Frisbee. After that, the Venturers finally settled down to movies and a cracker barrel.
Sunday morning had a more somber tone. A great breakfast, scouts own service, and closing assembly proved to be a great way to end an even better weekend.
