Merit Badge College 2018 - OFFLINE/In Person Payment

This form is for OFFLINE Payment (In person or mail to council office) only. If you prefer to pay online (Credit Card or PayPal) please use THIS FORM.

If you are a Boy Scout or Venturer* with a rank of First Class or higher OR have finished the 7th grade, you are eligible to register for, and participate in, after discussion with your Scoutmaster, any of the thirty-five Merit Badges being offered. Each Scout may register for up to 8 hours of classes.

*To earn Merit Badges Venturers must have earned First Class or higher or also be a registered in a Boy Scout Troop

HOW TO REGISTER:

  1. Look over the Badges to be offered and the difficulty ratings, then have a discussion with your Scoutmaster about what Badges you would like to attempt. After you both agree on a slate of Badges, go to the next step.
  2. With your parent’s permission, complete the online registration form below, filling in all fields on the form. (Please note that the email address you use in the registration section will be the one used to confirm your class choices and to communicate important information to you about Merit Badge College)
  3. Select your class choices and alternate class choices in the appropriate section. (The sooner you sign up, the more likely you will receive your first choice of classes. Alternates will be used only in the case where classes have become filled. You will receive a final confirmation email once the registrar processes your application with your final schedule.)
  4. Print your completed registration form (PDF attachment with your confirmation email) and return it as soon as possible to the Council Service Center along with all fees made payable to: Northeastern PA Council, BSA, 72 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, PA 18507

Your enrollment is NOT COMPLETE until the completed registration form is received accompanied by the appropriate fees, either via the online payment option, or by submitting to the Council Service Center.

When completing your application, please be sure to select your preferred class schedule along with alternate class choices as listed on the registration form. All attempts will be made to satisfy your preferred choices, but class availability will be determined on a first come, first served basis determined by the date your completed, paid application is received online or at the Service Center. If none of your choices are available, you will have the opportunity to select a new class schedule or receive a refund of your registration fees.

We reserve the right to limit registration for Merit Badge College or for any course. We also reserve the right to cancel a course or activities as needed. In case any course must be closed or limited, Scouts will be admitted on a first registered and paid, first served basis. Registration fees are non-refundable after December 13, 2017.

Please note: Some badges require travel off the King’s College Campus to other nearby venues to complete requirements. Additionally, some badges require that the pre-requisite work be emailed in advance to the counselor - see the online pre-requisite information for specifics.

Important: Be sure to discuss your merit badge selections with your Scoutmaster before you go online to register. Your Scoutmaster should be aware of the badges you are attempting at Merit Badge College in advance and you need to have discussed your merit badge selections with your Scoutmaster before you can register!

The approval of the Unit Leader is required for a youth member to participate in Merit Badge College. By selecting Yes you are indicating that you have had a discussion with your Scoutmaster or Crew Advisor and he or she has given their approval for you to attend the college. Unit Leaders will be contacted prior to the event and notified of any youth members who have registered for Merit Badge College.

Merit Badge Schedule Selection

Alternates will be used only in the case where classes have become filled. You will receive a final confirmation email once the registrar processes your application with your final schedule.
