Parent & Pal Family Camping Weekend is an action packed, 24-hour overnight (Saturday morning to Sunday morning) camping experience for a Cub Scout and his Parent/Partner. It is the perfect introductory camping program for "new" or inexperienced campers. All you have to do is show up. All meals and program are provided for you. Camp tents are available for you to use – or you can bring your own – whatever you are most comfortable with.

Note: If you do not have your own tent, please plan on camping in a campsite, where a tent will be provided for you to use. Please indicate on the registration form that you would like camp in a campsite, and provide the name of the campsite if possible.

Camp Acahela in Blakeslee, PA sits on a peninsula formed by the joining of two world-class fishing rivers, the Lehigh River and the Tobyhanna Creek. Acahela boasts 242 acres of variety from heavily wooded ridges and cliffs, to wide open parade fields, to shady groves of ancient fir trees that provide a wide variety of camping opportunities year-round for every type of Scouting unit and a dynamite Cub Scout Resident camping program during the summer months. In the winter we are just minutes from Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Split Rock and all the other Poconos famous ski resorts.

Current Conditions

Get ready for a week of action-packed Cub Scout Day Camp being held two different weeks at two different locations - with one near you.  Day Camp is a daytime, outdoor experience conducted over 5 days which is ideal for new Tiger Cubs as well as Wolves & Bears.  Cub Scouts will be challenged by lots of activities that generally include: nature, hiking, sports, fishing, games, archery, BB’s, and much more!  Fee is only $95 (if paid in full by May 15th).

"TROPICAL ISLAND ADVENTURE"

Get ready for a  “Tropical Island Adventure” at Camp Acahela this summer!  There are two exciting Cub Scout overnight camping opportunities to choose from running 5 different weeks beginning June 28.

Week-Long

A 6-Day 5-Night stay designed for those Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts who are prepared to camp overnight!  Boys will stay with their friends in large canvas wall tents on raised platforms. 


3-Day Adventure

If six days is too long, how about trying 3-Day Adventure Camp?  It begins on Sunday and everyone leaves on Tuesday after the closing.  This camp is ideal for first-year campers (Wolves) or Bears.

Parent & Pal Weekend Family Camps

Parent & Pal Weekend is designed for spending one-on-one quality time with your son.  It is the perfect 24-hour program for new or experienced campers.  All you have to do pretty much is show up - we take it from there.
 
Moms and Dads, legal guardians, or adult relatives can attend with their Scout.  The adventure begins Saturday morning and ends Sunday morning after breakfast.  Four weekends to choose from!
 
  • June 13 - 14 at Goose Pond, Hamlin, PA
  • June 20 - 21 at Goose Pond, Hamlin, PA
  • August 8 - 9 at Camp Acahela, Blakslee, PA
